Mental Health Matters is one of the UK’s most innovative organisations working with people with mental health needs.  We have a dedicated and experienced staff team of over 300 people providing a comprehensive range of services which cover every aspect of individuals’ lives, from employment and housing to community support and psychological services.

We are looking to recruit a new team member to work within our Reflections Resource Centre, based in Darlington. This position is funded by Darlington Social Services.

 

Support Worker (Ref: RE08)

£15,725 per annum

37.5 hours per week

Based: Darlington

 

You will be required to provide support to clients with mental health issues, promoting independence and social inclusion. You will also be responsible for some administrative and cleaning tasks and facilitating some activities within the centre. This position will require some evening and weekend work.

 

Experience or an understanding of working with people with mental health problems would be an advantage.  You will be qualified at least to NVQ Level 3 standard or equivalent (or willing to work towards this qualification) and will have the demonstrated skills and ability to help others identify and overcome barriers.

 

Experience or knowledge of a day service environment is desirable.  You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate a proactive and positive attitude.
