Karen Grundy is Appointed Executive Director
eVOLution are pleased to announce the appointment of Karen Grundy as the company’s new Executive Director.
Karen, who joins eVOLution from First Stop Darlington, took up the post in late February 2008 and brought with her an extensive knowledge and experience of the voluntary sector in Darlington.
Karen said of her appointment: “I am very pleased and excited to be appointed the new Executive Director of eVOLution. This is a great, if not challenging time for the Voluntary and Community sector with the emergence of the Governments white paper ‘Stronger Prosperous Communities’, Darlington Borough Council’s Third Sector Strategy and the development of Darlington’s Sustainable Community Strategy, I am looking forward to working along side groups and organisations in developing the work of our vibrant sector.”
Charles Johnson JP, Chair of eVOLution said: “I am absolutely delighted Karen has agreed to join us. Our organisation is changing rapidly as we develop our strategies and expand our support services. We needed an Executive Director who was able to drive the change and achieve our expectations, Karen’s local experience makes her ideally suited for this challenge. eVOLution has recently been successful in winning substantial grants circa half a million pounds for development work in Darlington and the District which will underpin many of the new services we will be providing from our Church Row offices.”
