With this years bad weather on it's way we have come together with a number of organistions to put together information that will help in making the winter more bearable.

Announcements:

23/1/2012 - DBC under the auspices of the Snow Patrol is delivering three training sessions in February covering Risk Assessment of the home and the individual, with particular emphasis on the effects of cold weather on older people the signs to look for and the questions to ask. The training will also include falls prevention. Susan Neill will also be delivering a session on Heat Advice including keeping your home warm and what help is available.

This will be extremely useful to all staff and volunteers who work/volunteer with older people

Please send the name of all of staff and volunteers at your organisation who will be attending this training to Mark.wilkes@evolutiondarlington.com.

Training dates are as follows and will be held at the Fire Station in Darlington starting at 9.30 to 12.00.

19/12/2011 - To ensure we can act quickly a dedicated phone line has been assigned to the Snow Patrol.  By telephoning us on 01325 734999 you can alert the group to any snow that needs clearing. Help will be despatched to that area as soon as possible.
